An Overview

 

 

São Mateus Faculty-UNIVC (CRICARE Vale Institute) - is a private-owned founded in the year of 1998 and it is located in the 4th historical city founded in Brazil, São Mateus's city in Espírito Santo State.  

 

It is also about of only 200 km of the city of Vitória, which is capital of the Espírito Santo, and border of the Brazilian states of Minas Gerais and Bahia that together possess 105 neighboring cities with 2.000.000 of inhabitants that are assisted by the university starting from 2010.

 

The university has 09 colleges which cover the four-year program specialties such as: 

 

Politics and Law, Tourism, Business Administration, Accounting Sciences, Pedagogy, Information Technology, Social Communication, Foreign Languages, and Education for adults.

 

In expansion, it still has a Plan of Institutional Development of the ministry of the Brazilian government's education to assist starting from 2010 of Humanities Bachelor's courses in Arts, Social Service; in the area of Exact sciences the courses of Mathematics, Engineering of Production, Science of the Computation, Environmental Engineering and Electric Engineering; in Technological Professional's Area Design Multimedia courses, Graphic Design, Data processing, Petroleum and Gas and Environmental Administration and in the Biomedical Sciences the courses of Nursing, Drugstore, Biochemistry, Physiotherapy, Physical education, Nutrition, Dentistry and Medicine.   

 

The university has 1.500 students now in integral time. In 2010 there is projection for entrance about more 700 students coming from São Mateus's neighboring cities, north area of the Espírito Santo, and of the neighboring states of Minas Gerais and Bahia that make border with São Mateus's city.

 

It already exists at the local market about 4,000 students formed at São Mateus University at vary specialties, and they want to accomplish specialization courses and exchanges with foreign universities. In the end of 2009 about 300 new students will conclude their courses, and they want to accomplish pos graduation courses and exchange cooperation with foreign universities

 

There is a faculty of more than 120 with doctorate and master's degree, and the remaining are associated teachers. The university occupies a built area of 12,000 m2 inside total area of 50,000 m2.

It possesses pedagogic resources as Laboratories equipped with modern computers, library with wide collection, access internet in growth projection and continuous updating with approximately 22.000 among books, newspapers, CD - ROMs, video Ribbons and DVD`S in compatible physical space and acclimatized. Technical personnel for service with formation in the specific area 

The educational practice is considered in the elaboration of the Pedagogic Project, because the teacher is intimately integrated to the updating of the professional profiles and of the new technological and social tendencies. The educational participation makes possible the critic to the effective practice and it promotes adaptations before new paradigms. 

The attendance and implementation of the Pedagogic Project is developed through a system of information that makes possible the teacher to plan their teaching activities, that it is still a popularization vehicle to the students of all that that interests in regarding of the discipline, working as a labor agreement for the transport of the discipline, and it supplies the necessary elements for Collegiate of Course to make registrations verifying the consonance besides with the pedagogic proposal and effectiveness of the action for the course. 

The institution has its mark in the community that is inserted in the production executes of 30 Congress of Education, 05 Forum of Education, Municipal Conferences of Education, 12 Research of Field, countless you Practice Pedagogic and Projects of Extension that bring grandiose publics the participation and less favored people's inclusion. Such as: Maturity Activates, Wing of the Freedom Social Inclusion, and Center of inclusive Education. It was developed also in partnership with the State University of Montes Claros of Minas Gerais and State University of Bahia, PLAMESO -Glide of Integrated Development and Maintainable of Mesoregião of the Valleys of Jequitinhonha, Mucuri and Cricaré, which embraces the states of Minas Gerais, Bahia and Espírito Santo totaling 105 municipal districts, tends as objective the development of programs and projects socioeconomic, cultural and environmental of Mesoregião. 

The University has Production Informs, Projects close to Brazilian government(CNPQ), Production of Scientific Magazine, Institutional Academic Newspaper and Seminars and Congress in the Juridical Area, besides Rendering Services the Community of low income through its Nucleus of Juridical Practices.
